In Mayo-Belwa local government area of Adamawa State, police operatives have arrested three suspects, Hassan Nasir, Uzairu Dan Fulani, and Yahaya Edward, for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl. The suspects, who are from Sabon Pegi, Ngurore of Yola-South local government, reportedly lured the victim to an uncompleted building where the heinous act took place. The victim had boarded a tricycle from Mayo Belwa to Ngurore, but they diverted the route behind Cottage Hospital in Mayo-Belwa for the crime.

The incident was promptly reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mayo Belwa, by a relative of the victim, leading to the swift arrest of the suspects. The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, expressed concern over the unfortunate incident and directed the officer in charge of the Family Support Unit of the command to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.

The police are taking the matter seriously and are committed to bringing justice to the victim and ensuring that the perpetrators face the full consequences of their actions.
