The non-governmental organization, Face Of Wazir-Nigeria (FOWN), has threatened to stage a protest against any attempt to witch-hunt Judges at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).

FOWN members are prepared to besiege government establishments if there is any directive to target specific Justices of the Tribunal and Petitioners’ lawyers.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Comrade Bukky Adeniyi, FOWN claims that after a covert meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Friday, July 21, 2023, a group of people has been tasked with pursuing the PEPT Judges on false charges.

Adeniyi stated, “The President just rose from a meeting with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, the Director General of the State Security Service, and Chairman ICPC. They have a specific instruction to go after the Tribunal Judges and lawyers of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and that of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi.”

FOWN highlights that this action is a result of their recent revelation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged attempts to manipulate the PEPT due to unfavorable odds in his case before the tribunal.

“FOWN is actively monitoring the situation and will keep Nigerians updated,” Adeniyi adds.

The organization believes that Tinubu’s actions are against the interests of the masses and warns that if justice is not served, Nigerians will suffer.

“He and his party, APC, want to set Nigeria on fire by this new onslaught, and we shall not hesitate to ground the country if any attempt is made on the Tribunal Justices, lawyers of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Mr. Peter Obi.”

FOWN asserts that regardless of any past actions by the targeted Judges, Nigerians have forgiven them in the interest of an important presidential election matter.
