Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for a 34-year-old man who allegedly used a stone to bludgeon his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend to death in Dzingidzingi village, Giyani, in the early hours of Saturday. According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim and her friend were on their way home from a local tavern when they encountered the suspect. A confrontation took place, and the man reportedly attacked the victim with a stone, leaving her critically injured and unconscious. Her friend ran to nearby households to call for help, but when she returned, the victim had already succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
The police were immediately notified, and a murder case has been opened while a manhunt has been launched for the suspect, who is currently at large. The police have urged the suspect to turn himself in at the nearest police station.
