Precision airstrikes carried out by the Air Component of Operation Delta Safe have successfully destroyed an illegal refining site containing stolen crude products in Rivers State. The intelligence-driven airstrikes targeted the active site located in Dariama village, situated approximately 20 kilometers South-west of Abonnema and 50 kilometers South-west of Portharcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
The illegal site was observed to have tanks and reservoirs filled with suspected illegal refined products. This operation marks another significant step by the Armed Forces of Nigeria in their commitment to eliminate the activities of oil thieves and illegal oil bunkerers in the region. The Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Air Cdre Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the airstrikes, reinforcing the Armed Forces’ dedication to combatting these illegal activities.
