The Supreme Court, in response to social media rumors, has reassured the public that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will not interfere in the ongoing cases before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). Dr. Akande Festus, the Court’s Director of Press and Information, emphasized that there was no truth to the narrative of a telephone conversation between the CJN, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) to pressure the PEPC’s judgment.
Nigerians have been following the PEPC proceedings with enthusiasm, and it’s crucial to sustain this interest and avoid engaging in baseless speculations and rumor peddling. Such behavior hinders the desired progress of our nation.
